2 PhD positions in Particle Physics Phenomenology at the LHC

Descripción:

Applications are now open for two PhD positions in Particle Physics Phenomenology in the context of the CIDEGENT excellence project: N3LO as the New Standard for Precision Physics at the LHC, led by Leandro Cieri and funded by the Valencian Government (Spain).

Successful candidates will be working at Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC) on innovative methodologies on theoretical calculations and computational tools for phenomenology studies at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

The senior members of the group are Francisco Campanario, Leandro Cieri, Martín González Alonso, Antonio Pich, Jorge Portolés, Germán Rodrigo, Ignacio Rosell, Pedro Ruiz Femenía, and José Zurita, together with several postdoctoral researchers and doctoral candidates.

The Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC) is a joint centre of the Spanish Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC) and the University of Valencia devoted to research in Nuclear, Particle and Astroparticle Physics and its applications to Medical Physics and to other fields of Science and Technology. The research activity will be complemented by an accompanying lecture program, regular seminars, workshops, and other joint events which will serve to broaden the intellectual horizon of our students.

The position is expected to be filled in the fall 2021, later appointments are also welcome.
