Prof. Gaia Lanfranchi from INFN visits IFIC from 5th to 7th February 2024.

Prof. Gaia completed her PhD at the University of Rome, La Sapienza, in 1997 with a study of CP violation in the Kaon sector. After a postDoctoral Fellowship in the same University she moved to the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati of INFN where she has got a permanent position as Researcher in particle physics in 2000 and then as Senior Researcher in 2009.
In 2002 she moved to CERN in the LHCb experiment for studying flavor physics in the B-sector. From 2014-2017 she has been member of the SPS Committee at CERN. In 2015 she moved her interest in the field of feebly-interacting particles and for this she was invited to participate to the Physics Preparatory Group of the recent European Strategy for Particle Physics.
She is now at CERN as Convener of the FIP Physics Centre in the Physics Beyond Colliders study group and she is currently the interim spokesperson of the SHADOWS project, a proton beam dump experiment proposed in the CERN North Area.

At the IFIC Seminar on February 6th at 12h (Europe/Madrid) Gaia will give a talk entitled: "The search for MeV-GeV Dark Matter and other feebly interacting particles at accelerators". More information about her talk can be found here: https://indico.ific.uv.es/event/7412/

His office at IFIC is 104.
