IFIC can act as host institute for those interested in applying to the Postdoctoral Junior Leader fellowships programme, aimed at recruiting excellent researchers of any nationality who wish to continue their research career in Spain or Portugal in the areas of health and life sciences, technology, physics, engineering and mathematics.

There are two different calls within this programme (deadline for both is 3 October 2024)

- Incoming call: 20 postdoctoral fellowships to carry out a postdoctoral research project at Spanish centres with the Severo Ochoa (such as IFIC), María de Maeztu or Carlos III Health Institute seals of excellence. 

Candidates must have been awarded a PhD between two and seven years prior to the closing date and must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the three years immediately preceding the closing date of the call.

Maximum duration: 3 years. Maximum amount: 320,100 EUR. Programme of training in multidisciplinary skills.

- Retaining call: 20 postdoctoral fellowships to carry out a postdoctoral research project at any university or research centre in Spain.

Candidates must have been awarded a PhD between two and seven years prior to the closing date and must have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the three years immediately preceding the closing date of the call.

Maximum duration: 3 years. Maximum amount: 320,100 EUR. Programme of training in multidisciplinary skills.
