Dr. Andrea Mitridate visits IFIC from 25th to 29th November 2023
Dr. Andrea Mitridate from DESY (Hamburg, Germany) visits IFIC from 25th to 29th November 2023.
Andrea completed his PhD on Dark Matter phenomenology in 2019 at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa. He then moved to the California Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral fellow. There he studied the capabilities of solid-state systems as Dark Matter detectors and got interested in using Pulsar Timing Arrays observations to probe new physics theories. In 2020, he joined the NANOGrav collaborations, of which he is now a full member and co-chair of its new physics working group. Since 2022, he has been a postdoctoral fellow at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), where the main focus of his research activity has been low-frequency gravitational waves detection and astrophysical and cosmological probes of new physics.
At the IFIC Seminar on November 28th at 12h (Europe/Madrid) Andrea will give a talk entitled: "PTAs, where we are and where we are going". More information about his talk can be found here: https://indico.ific.uv.es/event/7319/
His office at IFIC is B-1-7.
