Dr. Matthias Hamer from Bonn University visits IFIC from March 25th to 28th, 2025

Mar, 25/03/2025 - 09:54

Dr. Matthias Hamer got his PhD in 2013 from the University of Goettingen, working on searches for SUSY in multilepton final states with and multilepton triggers at the ATLAS experiment, and global fits of SUSY models to EW and LHC data with Fittino.
After that he spend two years in Rio de Janeiro at the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Fisicas with a grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), continuing to work on the Fittino project and switching experiments to CMS. (2014-2016)
After that, he stayed at the University of Aachen for a couple of months before he joined the Silicon Lab at the University of Bonn in 2016, re-joining ATLAS. He has worked on the development of silicon pixel detectors for the Phase-II Upgrade of the ATLAS tracking detector, spending a few years at CERN building and testing an early demonstrator for the ITk Pixel Outer Barrel, and later as a coordinator in the ITk Pixel Management. He is back in Bonn since 2020, continuing to work on the construction of the Pixel upgrade and starting the work on Lohengrin.

At the IFIC Seminar on 25th March at 12h (Europe/Madrid) Matthias will give a talk entitled:: The Lohengrin Experiment to Search for Dark Sector Particles at the ELSA Accelerator.
