Dr Chung-Yun Hsieh will give an IFIC seminar on 30 September. He will be at IFIC from 29 September to 4 October.

Dr Hsieh's research interests lie at the intersection of quantum physics, thermodynamics, and quantum information theory. He obtained his PhD from ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences in 2022, researching different quantum resources and their operational and thermodynamic applications. Following this, he began a postdoctoral position at the University of Bristol, studying quantum foundational effects in thermodynamics and quantum information science. He has been a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow at the University of Bristol since 2024, furthering his research on the quantum advantages of the uncertainty principle.

His office will be located in the Department of Theoretical Physics' guest office.
