Dr. Yong Du, a researcher at the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Lanzhou, China, will be visiting IFIC from 1st to 27th July 2025.

He is recognised for his expertise in particle physics, particularly in analysing data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and interpreting it within the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). His research interests include the phenomenological studies of effective field theories in hadron, lepton and electron-ion colliders, as well as in neutrino, nuclear, astrophysical and cosmological physics. Dr. Du also specialises in loop calculations, Standard Model precision tests, collider physics, and neutrino and dark matter physics.  He collaborates with the LHCPheno group, where he uses theoretical tools such as DYTurbo to identify deviations from the Standard Model.

His office at IFIC is located in the IATA building (office 510).
