From 22 to 26 June, the city of València hosted QTYR 2026 (Quantum Technologies for Young Researchers). The workshop took place at EDEM Business School, located in La Marina de València, and brought together 112 participants from a broad range of disciplines in quantum science and technology.

The workshop provided master's and PhD students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, with an opportunity to present their work, exchange ideas, and build connections with colleagues from different institutions and research fields. The programme covered topics including quantum computing, quantum information, quantum optics, quantum communication and cryptography, quantum hardware, and quantum machine learning.

In addition to contributed talks and poster sessions, QTYR 2026 featured invited lectures by leading experts, public outreach activities, and a session exploring the role of industry in the development of quantum technologies.

The workshop was organised by the PhD and Young Scientists in Quantum Technologies Network (PYSQT), an initiative of the Spanish Quantum Information Network (RITCE), within the framework of the Master's Degree in Quantum Technologies, a programme established by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) together with several Spanish universities, including the University of València (Universitat de València). The local organising committee included Manuel Gessner and Miriam Lucio, from the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC), a joint research centre of CSIC and the University of València, together with David Ibáñez from EDEM Business School.

QTYR 2026 was made possible through the collaboration of several institutions and initiatives active within Spain's quantum ecosystem. Financial support was provided by IFIC, the Severo Ochoa Excellence Programme, and the Faculty of Physics of the University of València, in addition to support from the Quantum Spain project and contributions from the wider network of organising institutions.

By hosting QTYR 2026, València further strengthened its role as a key meeting point for Spain's quantum technologies community. The workshop fostered connections between early-career researchers, established scientists, research institutions, and industry, while encouraging the participation of the next generation of researchers in one of today's most dynamic scientific fields.
