Dr. Juan Manuel Cruz visits IFIC on September 11th 2024
Dr. Juan Manuel Cruz speaker of the Topical Seminar on September 11th, 2024.
Juan did his PhD at Durham University, working on higher order calculations for Higgs production processes. After that he moved to Milan University as part of the N3PDF team working on machine learning techniques applied to particle physics. Currently, he’s a research fellow in the CERN Theory Group.
His main research interests are the theory of strong interactions and the development of new computing tools and algorithms for high precision calculations. Juan is also part of the NNPDF collaboration where he works on applying state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to the determination of Parton Distribution Functions.
