INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS JAE INTRO ICU 2026 AT THE INSTITUTE OF CORPUSCULAR PHYSICS (IFIC)
The Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC)—a joint research center of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Valencia (UV)—is offering up to 10 collaboration scholarships. These are aimed at students enrolled in the official Master’s Degree in Advanced Physics at the UV (specializing in Nuclear and Particle Physics or Theoretical Physics) or a similar Master’s program where IFIC research staff teach during the 2026-27 academic year.
The goal of this program is to introduce Master’s students to IFIC’s research activities, facilitating contact between students and IFIC researchers in view of potentially pursuing a doctoral thesis at the institute.
Training plan proposals and information regarding the supervising IFIC researchers can be found at this link. Applicants may select and prioritize up to three names from the list of proposed training plans.
A maximum of 5 scholarships will be awarded to topics in Experimental Nuclear and Particle Physics (FNPE), a maximum of 4 scholarships to topics in Theoretical Physics (FT), and a maximum of 4 scholarships to topics related to applications of Nuclear and Particle Physics (AFNP).

Application Period: September 1 to September 30, 2026.
Applicant Requirements
- Degree Field: Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Sciences during the 2024-2025 academic year or later.
- Academic Record: A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 7.5 or higher on a 10-point scale (calculated to two decimal places).
- Official Master’s Degree: Admission for the 2026-2027 academic year into the Official Master’s Degree in Advanced Physics at the University of Valencia (Nuclear and Particle Physics or Theoretical Physics specialties) or a similar Master's where IFIC staff teach. Beneficiaries must provide proof of enrollment.
Duration:
- Period: 7 months (ideally from January to July 2027).
- Weekly Commitment: 20 hours.
Financial Aid
€5,600 divided into 7 monthly instalments of €800. Beneficiaries residing outside the Valencian Community may receive an additional allowance of up to €200 to cover travel expenses to Valencia at the start of the grant, provided these are documented.
