Accelerator-based Experimental High Energy Physics

This research line takes advantage of large particle accelerators to study the most elementary components of matter. At present, this line is focused on two large projects: the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN and the future linear colliders - ILC (International Linear Collider) and CLIC (Compact Linear Collider).

IFIC has participated in the construction of several systems of the ATLAS detector at CERN and in the computing and data management related to the data supplied by this detector. IFIC also particpates in the LHCb experiment and in Belle II of the future accelerator SuperKEKB. You can know more clicking on the left menu links.

In the past, the scientist of this research line participated in the DEPHI experiment at the LEP accelerator of CERN, the CDF experiment at the Tevatron of FNAL and in the BaBar experiment at the PEP-II accelerator of SLAC.
