Jean Kimus from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) visits IFIC from 8th to 19th April, 2024.
He works on dark matter candidates in the framework of hidden sectors. Therefore, mostly considering dark QED, he studies cosmological scenarios that involve heat transfer between the dark sector and the standard model, and effects, such as entropy production, that can significantly affect the domain of DM candidates.
The Boltzmann equations that we usually use to study such models being often quite stiff and challenging to solve properly, he is currently working on a new approach, based on physics informed machine learning, to handle these numerically in a much simpler way.
His office at IFIC is B-4-0.
His visit has received financial support from the MCIU with funding from the European Union NextGenerationEU (PRTR-C17.I01) and Generalitat Valenciana (GVANEXT). Proj. ARTEMISA, ASFAE/2022/024.
