With immense sadness we inform of the loss of our dear friend and member of the IFIC experimtenal physics group, Esteban Fulllana Torregrosa, at the age of 47. On Saturday July 2nd, he left home for an early morning run, as he usually did, but this ime he could not return home.

Esteban obtained his doctoral degree in 2007, working at IFIC in Valencia on the construction of the Tile Calorimeter. Later he worked as a post-doc at Argonne (Chicago), CERN, the University of Mainz. He returned to IFIC in 2015. Since then he has been active in the ATLAS experiment, in operation of the Tier2, data analysis in measurements of jet cross sections and the top quark mass. He also contributed to prospect studies of a future Higgs factory in the context of the CLIC and ILC projects. Recently he was elected as chair of the External Section of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics.

Esteban was an excellent scientist, very solid and cautious. He was known for his positive and generous attitude. He put forward his brilliant initiatives with a characteristic modesty, that is rare in our field and was always there to help his colleagues. For all these reasons, he was loved by all his colleagues. It has been a real privilege to share work, projects and dreams with Esteban. We will miss him dearly and will keep him alive in our memories.

It is a terrible loss for all of us and especially for his family. Esteban adored his wife, Belen, and their daughters Carolina and Inés. IFIC cannot but express our sincerest condolences and hope to be of support to his loved ones in these difficult times.
