Prof. Farida Fassi visits IFIC from 26th June to 15th August 2023
Farida Fassi is an esteemed Professor of Physics and Particle Physicist at the Faculty of Sciences of Mohammed V University in Rabat. Additionally, she holds an affiliation as a researcher at the esteemed "Instituto de Física Corpuscular" (IFIC). Her remarkable achievements led to her election as a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences. Fassi's academic journey includes the completion of her Ph.D. in Particle Physics at the University of Valencia, Spain. Her groundbreaking research and significant contributions in this field were recognized with the prestigious European Ph.D. in Physics award. Over the course of her career, Fassi has held various esteemed research positions and affiliations with renowned institutions.
Furthermore, Fassi is an influential figure in the scientific community as the co-founder of the "African Strategy for Fundamental Applied Physics" and a valued member of the scientific committee of the "African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications." Additionally, she contributes her expertise as a member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics Working Group on Women in Physics (IUPAP WGWIP).
She has achieved an impressive H-index of 129 (Scopus), highlighting her exceptional scholarly impact. In 2021, she garnered remarkable recognition across multiple domains, securing second place in Morocco, Africa, and the "Arab League,". Her outstanding performance in the international 2021 AD Scientific Index placed her among the Top 50 scientists worldwide, as this prestigious ranking evaluates diverse productivity metrics and academic citations to assess researchers' global standing.
