Prof. Jisuke Kubo from the University of Toyama (Japan) visits IFIC from 17th to 19th June, 2024.

Jisuke did his PhD in renormalization effects in grand unified theories in 1982 at Dortmund University. His postdoctoral fellow took place from 1984-85 at MPI for Physics (Heisenberg Institute), Munich, where he worked on supersymmetry phenomenology and also started to work  on reduction of coupling constants. From 1985 to 1987 at Institute for Theoretical Physics, State University of New York at Stony Brook, US, where he worked on string and membrane theories. Returning to Heisenberg Institute 1987 he worked on reduction of coupling constants and on anomalous gauge theories.

He got a permanent position in 1988 as associate professor until 1997 and the same year  as ordinary professor at Kanazawa University, Japan until 2018.

He continued to work on reduction of coupling constants and turned his attention to flavor symmetry, radiative generation of neutrino mass in connection with dark matter.

Since about 10 years he have been interested in scale invariant extension of the standard model and also Einstein theory of gravity, especially in phenomenological as well as theoretical consequences of such extension in particle physics and cosmology.

After retirement from Kanazawa University from 2018 to present visiting professor at Toyama University, Japan, and at present visiting scientist at MPI for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg.
