IFIC will host the NUSTAR Week 2014
Next week, from September 22th to 26th, IFIC will host the NUSTAR Week 2014, which will bring together around a hundred scientists from all over the world. The NUSTAR Collaboration (NUclear STructure, Astrophysics and Reactions) is an international collaboration whose activities focus on the study of exotic nuclei, their structure, stability, and their formation during the supernova explosions that bring to an end the life of certain stars. The collaboration is one of the pillars of the FAIR Laboratory, which is currently being built in Darmstadt (Germany), and which will become, once it starts operations in 2018, one of the largest laboratories in Europe devoted to the study of nuclear physics. The Gamma Spectroscopy and Neutrons Group of IFIC, being the local member of NUSTAR, will host the event, and Berta Rubio will be one of the coordinators together with Dolores Cortina, from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
