Meeting of the ANTARES and KM3NeT collaborations in Valencia
From February 23rd to 27th 2015, the ANTARES and KM3NeT collaborations will meet in Valencia. ANTARES is an underwater neutrino telescope deployed near Toulon, France, that has been taking data since 2007. KM3NeT, its future successor, will be a telescope with a volume of several cube kilometres that will be deployed in the waters of France and Italy, and whose first construction phase started recently.
The aim of these experiments is the study by means of the neutrinos of the highest-energy particle accelerators in the cosmos, as well as elucidating the ordering of neutrino masses –from lightest to heaviest– in connection with their family.
The meeting, organized by members of IFIC, will take place downtown Valencia, at the Fundación Universidad-Empresa (ADEIT) of Valencia University. Around one hundred scientists and engineers are expected to attend the meeting, where they will have the opportunity to discuss the latest scientific and technical results obtained by the collaborations.
