Dario Barberis visits IFIC from 18th to 20th of September. He is expert in Evolution of Computing for the ATLAS Experiment in LHC Run 3 and beyond. Prof. Dario Barberis is a researcher and lecturer at the University of Genoa (Italy) since 1992. After studying Physics at the University of Milan (Italy), he received a PhD degree from the University of Manchester (UK) in 1982. His initial work was on the productions of mesons and baryons containing heavy quarks using photon, meson and hyperon beams at fixed target, using the Omega facility at CERN. Since 1996, he works full time for the ATLAS experiments, where he was Computing Coordinator between 2003 and 2010 and kept contributing to the development of the computing infrastructure ever since.

During his visit, Barberis will offer a conference to talk about the ATLAS experiment computing for the next years at the LHC RUN3 and specifically the participation of the institute in the ATLAS experiment computing activities for the near future. His office is located at IFIC main building office number B.1.4.
