IFIC hosts NEXT Collaboration Meeting from 14 to 15 November

dc., 13/11/2019 - 12:55

NEXT, the Neutrino Experiment with a Xenon TPC, will hold its bi-annual Collaboration Meeting at IFIC on November 14-15, 2019. About 35 NEXT collaborators from Israel, Portugal, Spain and USA will attend. The first day of the meeting will be largely devoted to discuss the operations and the data analysis of NEXT-White, the 5 kg-scale detector currently operating at the Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc (LSC). The second day of the meeting will instead focus on the short- and longer-term future. Construction updates on the imminent NEXT-100 detector, the 100 kg scale detector to be installed at the LSC in 2020, will be given. The design and R&D activities toward next-generation, ton-scale, NEXT detectors will also be discussed. NEXT Collaborations meetings started in 2008, when the collaboration was formed. Since then, 14 out of 26 collaboration meetings have been held at IFIC.
