Tobias Hurth (Universität Mainz) will visit IFIC from April 13 to 15, 2026, and will give an IFIC seminar on April 14.

His research focuses on the interplay between collider and flavour physics in new physics searches, as well as on perturbative and non-perturbative corrections to FCNC processes using effective field theories such as the Standard Model Effective Theory and the Soft Collinear Effective Theory.

He earned his Ph.D. and completed his habilitation in Zurich. After postdoctoral positions at Stony Brook, SLAC, and the MPI in Munich, he spent ten years conducting research in the CERN Theory Department. For over 10 years, he has been a professor at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.

He will be based in Martin Hirsch’s office (B-6-4).

More information about the seminar is available on Indico.
